012:AND CAN IT BE (UYP 18) (HTC 452)

1.
And can it be that I should gain
an interest in the Saviour's blood?
Died he for me, who caused his pain?
for me, who Him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be,
That You, my God, should die for me?
2.
What mystery here! - the Immortal dies;
Who can explore his strange design?
In vain the first-born seraph tries
to sound the depths of love divine.
Such mercy this! - let earth adore;
let angel minds inquire no more.
3.
He left his Father's throne above
so free,so infinite his grace -
emptied Himself of all but love,
and bled for Adam's helpless race.
What mercy this, immense and free,
for, 0 my God, it found out me!
4.
Long my imprisoned spirit lay,
fast bound in sin and nature's night:
Your sunrise turned that night to day;
I woke the dungeon flamed with light.
My chains fell off, Your voice I knew;
I rose, went out, and followed You!
5.
No condemnation now I dread;
Jesus, and all in Him, is mine!
Alive in Him, my living head,
and clothed in righteousness divine,
bold I approach the eternal throne
And claim the crown, through Christ my own.

009:AMAZING GRACE (UYP 89) (HTC 28)

009:AMAZING GRACE (UYP 89) (HTC 28) 1. Amazing grace - How sweet the sound, That saved a wretch like me; I once was lost, but now am found; Was blind, but now I see. 2. God's grace first taught my heart to fear, His grace my fears relieved; How precious did that grace appear, The hour I first believed! 3. Through every danger, trial and snare, I have already come: His grace has brought me safe thus far, And grace will lead me home. 4. The Lord has promised good to me, His word my hope secures; my shield and stronghold he shall be as long as life endures. 5. And when this earthly life is past. And mortal cares shall cease, I shall possess with Christ at last Eternal joy and peace. 6. When we've been there a thousand years, Bright shining as the sun, We've no less days to sing God's praise. Than when we first began.
